Carl Hirschmann GmbH supports the wvib annual campaign “Germany can do more”

The turning point is no longer just a buzzword, but reality. Global value chains are being reorganized, technological advances are accelerating, demographic developments are exacerbating the shortage of skilled workers, and energy remains expensive. Germany's industry is under pressure—more so than many other locations worldwide. But pressure has never been a reason for our companies to stand still; rather, it has often been the starting point for renewal.

Baden-Württemberg in particular shows how central industrial value creation is to prosperity, employment, and social stability. Industry is not just one sector among many – it is the backbone and multiplier. When German locations fall behind in global competition, it affects not only individual companies, but the entire economic ecosystem.

“Pressure has always been a driver of innovation and further development for our companies – not a reason for stagnation.”

Rainer Harter, Technical Director, Carl Hirschmann GmbH

The good news is that our companies are better than their reputation – and often ahead of the political debate. Many member companies are investing, adapting business models, tapping into new markets, and taking responsibility across generations. Recent economic data and sentiment indicators show cautious optimism. But optimism alone is not enough. It needs reliable framework conditions.

What is missing now is a bold, market-oriented reform agenda: less bureaucracy, faster approvals, competitive energy prices, and investments in education, research, and infrastructure. A state that enables rather than administers, that prioritizes rather than distributes. Progress does not come from prohibitions, but from competitiveness.

“Germany can do more” is an invitation to shape the future – to politics, society, and business alike.“

Hanna Böhme, Managing Director, wvib

For us at Carl Hirschmann, one thing is clear: if responsibility is returned to where value is created, and if performance, entrepreneurship, and innovation are once again brought to the forefront, then an industrial renaissance is possible.

“We know we can do more.”

Rainer Harter, Technical Managing Director, Carl Hirschmann GmbH

Our companies are ready. Now the system must be ready too. By supporting the wvib annual campaign, we are making a clear commitment to Germany as an industrial location — and to the conviction that Germany can do more.
